Anna R. Schwartz is a founding member and managing partner of Federico Schwartz Merolesi & Lyddane, LLP. She has litigated complex medical malpractice matters for thirty years, and has represented physicians, nurses, and therapists in professional disciplinary hearings.
Many of the medical malpractice cases she handles involve obstetrical, gynecologic oncology, neurosurgical and other high risk/high exposure specialties. She also advises medical practices and hospitals on risk management, HIPAA compliance, and accreditation.
Coming from a medical family, Ms. Schwartz’s commitment to the defense of the medical field is both professional and personal. Her in-depth medical knowledge is invaluable in developing litigation strategy, working with experts, preparing witnesses, and defending medical practitioners at depositions. She has been successful in gaining early dismissals, and facilitates successful verdicts for those cases that proceed to trial.
With the continued scrutiny of the medical profession and the increased public concern about quality of care, Ms. Schwartz plays an important role in preparing and representing health care providers before the Office of Professional Medical Conduct and the Office of the Professions in proceedings to defend their patient care and to safeguard their licensure. She also assists with credentialing for privileges and participation with health management organizations, including handling disputes over reimbursement, charting and coding.
Anna has also received an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell, Inc., the highest peer rating for professional skill and integrity.
